Make a Pack for an Underepresented (or "Forgotten") Country

Ok, so (I start many threads with "Ok, so"😅), what's the point of this?

Recently, we've gotten at least 1 pack per continent, right? But, at the same time, many countries have next to nothing for representation in-game (or none at all).

So, I wanna know what kind of packs y'all could make for your country (like, @yoav_r can do Israel, which doesn't have much in-game. @NZFanatic can do a realistic New Zealand pack). Anybody can participate, but this is more aimed towards players who's country (or state oe territory) is not well represented.

So, in my case, I was born amd raised in Texas, but I have some representation in-game because of the gators and bullfrogs and beavers.
But the other half of my family (Argentina) has almost nothing.

My Argentina pack will feature:

  1. Patagonian mara - a rodent that looks like a rabbit, but not a rabbit
  2. Nine-banded armadillo - a tiny little walking armor, these guys are found all over, from Argentina to the United States
  3. Greater rhea - our bird. Woo hoo. Perfect for mixed enclosures with Baird's tapirs, giant anteaters, and capybaras
  4. Argentine black-and-white tegu - a large lizard that would be great for SA areas
  5. Yarará (E) - a dangerous snake found in Argentina and Brazil. More commonly known as the jararaca

I don't really think country packs will happen (unless they do the Indian subcontinent), but I think this is an interesting thought exercise regardless. I'll pick Panama, since Central America is a rather neglected region.
  • Nine-banded Armadillo
  • Mantled Howler
  • Lesser Capybara
  • White-nosed Coati
  • Collared Peccary
  • Roseate Spoonbill
  • Brown Pelican
  • Hercules Beetle (Exhibit)

Despite having a built-in building theme, there isn't that much representation for Indian animals beyond the basics (tiger, elephant, peafowl). An Indian animal pack could look something like:

1. Nilgai
2. Blackbuck
3. Striped hyena
4. Sloth bear
5. Lion-tailed macaque
6. Hanuman langur
7. Demoiselle's crane
8. Indian cobra

New Zealand is hard without flying birds, but if I was to do it I'd make it a secondary aquatic pack.

  • North Island brown kiwi of course.
  • Takahe.
  • Little blue penguin.
  • New Zealand fur seal.
  • and Tuatara as the exhibit animal.

The other possible option for this pack is the kunekune pig, which is a domestic breed, but has the same "prestige" as the llama and is held in a handful of international collections.

If we had flying birds, the two main ones I'd add are the kea (of course) and the kereru, aka the New Zealand wood pigeon.

Happy to disagree on the tuatara not being a habitat animal, since they are indeed kept in enclosures in NZ. like this one in Dunedin.

Honestly I would rather it be in a habitat to give it more justice :)

We’ll, I’m from Australia, which is generally underrepresented but used to live in Tasmania, a state which has zero representation (so far), so I’ll go with just Tasmanian species:

Tasmanian Devil (obviously)
Bennett’s wallaby (obviously)
Platypus (very common in Tassie (compared to elsewhere in Australia) but not endemic)
Common wombat (also very common in Tassie, though not endemic
Tasmanian Giant Freshwater Crayfish (exhibit)

other good options would be quolls, echidnas, pademelons, … lots of good options

Despite already have one DLC pack, South America as a whole is still MASSIVELY under represented in the game as is Central America....so pretty much any country in SA or CA is under represented, as far as I'm concerned.
I'd also like to see NZ, Tasmania and Madagascar get some love.

So basically I mostly agree with almost every post above this one. haha

I agree broadly, but there are a couple for which you could do solid packs still:

India:
Sloth Bear, Striped Hyena, Sarus Crane, Asiatic Lion, Chital, Sambar, Wild Water Buffalo, Markhor, Indian Crested Porcupine,

Russia:
Amur Leopard, Saiga, Przewalski's Horse, Baikal Seal, Wild Boar, Wolverine, Walrus, Siberian Crane, Dalmatian Pelican

China:
Dugong, Golden Snub-nosed Monkey, Lar Gibbon, Gaur, Wild Yak, Pallas' Cat, Golden Pheasant, Lady Amherst's Pheasant, Takin, Pere David's Deer, Oriental Stork

New Zealand:
Kiwi, Kakapo, Takahe, Little Blue Penguin, Tuatara

Japan:
Red-crowned Crane, Tanuki, Sika Deer, Japanese Serow, Wild Boar, Japanese Giant Salamander

Madagascar:
Aye-aye, Shifaka, Indri, Fossa, Nile Crocodile, Sacred Ibis, all the Chameleons

Saudi Arabia:
Hamadryas Baboon, Honey Badger, Arabian Leopard, Arabian Oryx, Dromedary Camel, helmeted guineafowl, Caracal

I'd think you'd probably be able to get solid packs out of Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Kenya etc too?

Dutch pack.

Red deer
Red fox
Roe deer
Wild boar
European adder or Sand lizard

Left out the Wisent and Mouflon because I think they could be better incorporated in other packs? We only have very small populations of them, while we have tons of the species above.
