Make CQC Free to Play

Please consider making CQC Free to Play. It lacks players, it's most of the time impossible to join a match because people are more into the full game and don't want to leave their current activity. Basicly when I tried to join a match it was looking for players for 10 minutes, no matter what gamemode I joined.

F2P CQC should be used as a demo. People can experience immersive combat before buying the full game. This will truely boost the sales. I know the trainings missions are for free but that is no where as intense as CQC. CQC is also easier to understand for new players because of the simple customization. This is the correct way to train CMDR's for the full game.

A couple of good ideas. Only FD will know how many people play CQC .. but if you can't get a game it can't be good (cool in a way though, if people are preferring the main game). Don't forget, when it comes to training, there's things like navigation that a new player needs to learn too.

The trouble with treating CQC as a "demo" is that the rest of the game is absolutely nothing like it.

I could see CQC succeeding as a $10 standalone product that included a discount on the main game. I think they should work on it a bit more first, though, and add some stuff like private matches and lobby chat.

I generally dislike F2P titles, but I guess that's due to the microtransactions that inevitably come with them. If not free, CQC would be a nice standalone title. It could be quite cheap, e.g. £4.99.

Huge problem: it's impossible to ban cheaters. In a competitive environment, that's a killer.

And I like that approach better. It could be treated as a down-payment if people later decide to buy the full game too.

Why just a station?

I'm out on the Distant Worlds expedition, and finding lots of interesting canyons, mountains, and rings. Why not be able to mark out an area with a holo-projector and invite Commanders to join a "holo-deathmatch" out in space?

Ditto with SRVs, while we're at it.

I do not understand why some people want this.

What is the possible advantage? you aren't going to be able to play the main game anyway while you are in CQC?, it takes like, what 4-5 clicks to leave game and enter CQC? is that the 'bad' thing?
