Make distant stations pay more

The economy of stations 500,000k ls from the star and systems outside the bubble is broken. Nobody brings anything out to them, yet the prices are the same as close stations.

When you live in a remote location everything costs more. No trader/shipping company would send goods 4,000,000ls away from a star for the same price as a station 50ls from the star. Make it worth it to haul even just basic goods out to these distant stations.

It would shake things up from just trying to find the shortest trade route for the highest profits. You would have to balance how much time you actually spend on a round trip vs how long it takes to get to the distant location. Same things for stations outside the bubble. You would see people have to build specialized long distance trading ships.

It is logical and would make a new wrinkle for trading.

Missions already pay more for remote locations IIRC, and as for markets ... have you heard of FC? Those stations aren't remote once you have a FC ...

1. Literally nobody said jack about missions.

2. How many times have you filled up your carrier and hauled animal meat and vegetables out to the inhabited systems in the California Nebula? How many people are filling up carriers to deliver clothing, consumer tech, and domestic appliances to Katzenstein Dock in 36 Ophiuchi? Yeah the answer is zero. Thus the economic system is broken.

Even if the prices went way up for those basic goods out there, someone with a fleet carrier would have to either recruit haulers and bring them with him/her or do it all him/herself. Which would make it less attractive but more lucrative. And if a bunch of people did that then prices should come down until it meets a balance. That is how an economy works. The economics engine clearly isn't doing that now.

Like I said it would add a wrinkle where creative traders like the Pilots Trade Network who orchestrated a huge trip to Rackham's Peak because the price of wine was through the roof would have some fun figuring out how to make money off of it.

Ok you are free to go back to your trolling the ED message board suggestions page to crap on people's ideas.
