Make hull reinforcements multiply your armor by base value

Right now, each hull reinforcement package increases your armor by a set amount. This leads to absolutely absurd builds with incredible amounts of armor, which lead to slugfests. This is certainly better than the SCB meta of 1.4 and before, because we can now target subsystems, but it's still not perfect. I propose that Hull Reinforcement Packages now multiply your base armor value by a certain percentage based on class.

Class 1 - 2%
Class 2 - 4%
Class 3 - 6%
Class 4 - 8%
Class 5 - 10%

Since multiple packages can be placed onto a ship, a full silent-running PvP build won't be unbelievably unkillable, and normal builds will still be powerful.

Thoughts?

Except it totally breaks the balance by allowing you to fit things like Batteries, HRPs, Limpet Controls etc that do not scale 2:1 like cargo.

Never happen, not unless they make a Class 2 HRP have exactly half the value of a Class 3, same with Shield Batteries and other modules.

Because a Class 1 HRP has 64 armor, and you could put 446 of them in an Anaconda.

Not a good idea.

Having the armor value go up by class is dangerous for balance. Imagine a corvette. Now imagine it with 50% more hull. Imagine it with 100% more hull. You lose.

Armor packages would need substantial increases in mass to turn their ships into ponderous hulks, and then those pilots would just complain that they can no longer dogfight like an asp.

Wouldn't end well, I'm afraid.

Eh, I guess you're right. Maybe FD can make it so the reinforcements scale from A-E, and getting a larger class one only benefits slightly more. I am absolutely for larger ships getting exponentially more armor, if that's what you're asking.
