The social aspect of being right next to your fellow commanders is a wonderful thing and currently the only time I've felt there's any room for collaboration on a surface is when we're fighting together in a conflict zone.
I, and I'm sure many other social peeps like me, would love to be able to do the planetary missions in a team and also get properly rewarded doing so.
Properly functional multiplayer where every member is rewarded for their participation is something I'd consider basic functionality in an MMO.
If this is already in the game then it's either too hard to find or the team missions are too rare. Correct me if I'm wrong!
