The Minerva system for the CG is in LYR space, so on arriving with a T9 load of Power Generators I took the opportunity to sell first 1, then 2, then 3 etc., noting the merits earned for each transaction.
It's clear what's going on. The merits awarded are proportional to the square root of the tons sold.
This is dumb. It gives a perverse incentive to sell goods one ton at a time, which is a boring click-click travesty of proper gameplay. I'd say it feels worse than relogging. I guess it was an ill-thought-out attempt at balancing, to give medium ships an advantage, but it doesn't work.
FD, please make the merits awarded linearly proportional to tons sold or profit (either will do).
