Make money money money, make money make. Rares or just trade?

What's best for profit?

Rares runs (I'm doing this at present in a type 6)

or

Flat trading with the largest hauler money can buy?

Go .....

I don't play all out for money but i'm planning on getting something a bit beefy for higher end combat - hence focussing on £££ per hr.

So T6 and rares until T7, then trade routes. Sound about right?

Rares in a T6 is working for me. I've upgraded the FDC to an A4 so I'm down from 14 or so jumps to 8 for my normal route.

yes thats the quickest way to earn credits, this is what i did, did some seeking luxuries as well but these are now harder to find a good one.

I think with a Type 6 you can really go with whichever you prefer. If you find a 13-4k C/T/H route that's pretty comparable to rare rates no?

Hung, drawn and quartered.

Although even in a Python, I still mix in a rare trade run for varieties sake - probably not max credits/hour anymore, but I don't really care about that all that much as long as it's a little different and still yields a profit.

How do you get enough commodities to make it worth while. After hanging out at a station for half an hour I can get about 7t of the rare item and that seems to be about it. 16000 profit doesn't really seem worth it when I can pick up a short haul mission or two in my Asp, fill up whats left with regular trades and collect bounties on the way. I can make more than 112,000 one way short jump with regular trading, as much as 140,000 on a good route not including any bounties I pick up on the way. On those lucky short haul or delivery missions I can make over 300k on a single jump trip.

The trick is multiple rare stations, either on a grand circuit or cluster to cluster.

trading in a Type 9, but if you can only afford a smaller ship, (like a cobra) then rares is the way to go.
I was going to say luxury traders ... ooops. !!

Normal trading for me, about 430K Cr in 12 minutes using type7 with 216T capacity between 2 stations in neighbouring systems where I am alied. Rares haven't seemed worth it tbh.

How did you make the money for your T7?

Sorry - the reason I ask is that I tend to switch off if I grind. Even after years of playing Eve .. I spent very little time in anything expensive due to the reluctance to dedicate time churning ISK. Hence keen to keep it to a minimum.

Have a go at the Tanmark community goal and get a discount on one of the two rares. All you need is to deliver one tonne of Land Enrichment after signing up.

rares are good. have a look at the trading tools for ED. i went from T6 to a T7. most go ASP route because the jump distance. but look for the trades that are only 3 - 4 jumps away. you can make $1million + a hour. for those brokers out there the panther clipper, is expected soon. its larger then the T9. description says, can buy a station out of goods.

Asp as trading ship using one of the size 3 slots for shield gives 120t in total so better than the type6.

I bought the type6 from the cobra then asp then type7 but often kept previous ship. Now have viper, t7 and asp.
