Ok, im new. I get its hard to make money (CR), im ok with that. Ive shot down a few wanted ships, but didnt make anything. I know there is no missions yet also. How do we make credits? How do i choose a faction? I've been searching through the forums and havent found what im looking for. I've been exploring a lot looking for ways to make money but im lost for now. please help :)

ED is awesome, its not too hard, landing is easy (for me).

For me the quickest way to earn creds is to participate in one of the local conflicts. Just super cruise to one and pick a side. To select your faction you need to access the right UI, I can't remember which tab it's under but you should be able to pick a side once you hit nav point.

Another way I've just starting doing is bounty hunting near an asteroid belt, just fly around and scan the ships, if it's "wanted" then that's your chance. The bounties are more lucrative but harder to get as most wanted pilots warp out if you get their hull down to 20%. I'd only do this if you've got 2 lasers on board.

For easiest money using combat, go to the Federal Distress Signal orbiting Eranin 2. Chose a faction (Federation or Eranin) by going to your right side panel and opening the Functions window.

Or you can go to the Resource Extraction Site which is in the Rings of Anahit in the LP 98-132 system. You don't chose a faction there. Just attack any "wanted" ships to earn bounty.

Yeah, you get 500 credits for each opponent you take out (you HAVE to declare for a faction, though - but it's not permanent). Lurk about, lock on to a target, follow them around and wait while your NPC teammates weaken them, and then finish them off to claim the loot. Once you've binned a few of them, head back to the space station, and plop another laser on your sidewinder (think they're 2,200 credits or something) and head back. An hour of careful work there will net you 20,000.
