Make thargoids creepy...

... and scary. Cute cuddle aliens suck. So do humanoid ones. We need something that should make you crap your pants in VR. If we ever get to kick our space legs around in their environments with them.

I disagree.

what could be more terrifying in VR than those awesaome ships, and then....

DUH DUH DUH

A CAREBEAR WALKS OUT! Shooting Care from their stomach sticker... Bowel-quaking.

I want the Thargoids to look and behave like a bunch of Jar Jar Binkses.

What could be more terrifying?

"Humanoid" face, cold evil eyes lower lid, small flat nose, very tall narrow bold forehead, sharp teeth, small chin, holes for ears, something falling on the sides of the head - tentacles? Enough?

I've seen so many types of spooky scary alienmonsterthings in SF and fantasy over the last decades that I can't remotely picture what's beyond my imagination anymore. As long as they're believably-created I'll be happy with the results.

I think that's pretty damn creepy as it is!

I'm completely desensitized to "scary monsters".
Any movie with a scary monster is simply not scary.
This doesn't mean they're not cool. Just not scary. Lol

These days I'm more freaked out by what I can't see, than what I can. All the weird noises, and atmosphere do far more than some kind of giant bug. Lol

Some of the scariest games I've ever played, were almost entirely due to the atmosphere of the game. Silent Hill comes to mind as one of the most unnerving games ever. That damn radio that plays static when "something" is near by, even if it's just a harmless ghost, got me on edge, far more often the jump-scare monsters from any other game.

That said, some of the NPC's faces freak me the hell out. Lol

I don't believe the Thargoids scariness factor can hold a candle to the looks of the faces of the hireable crew in stations.
Humanities finest.
Riders of the SLFs.
Fierce potato gods of war and destruction.

Haha i think you're ahead of the game mate. humanity's final move; bring our crew to the cockpit and the next time those goids hyperdict us for a scan and see that mug through the window they'll hightail it to andronoma!

Couldn't agree more, the most scary horror movies are the ghosts/spirits or whatever you don't see. A guy with a chainsaw is boring.

Silent Hill 2, that brings back (bad) memories... and the music, which was subtly driving you insane with tension. When the pyramid guy first appeared and then left... oh mama. The scariest moment of my gaming career (after he left and the music was suggesting he will promptly return), I was unable to play on headphones anymore. And that's from a guy who liked playing human on alien vs predator.

They made them sound pretty creepy though, the sounds the thargoid ships make are really cool yet eerie, sound design is once again on point! *pats sound design team*

Creepiest aliens I've seen are the ones from the Edge of Tomorrow. Fast and lethal.
And don't get me started on Tom Cruise and his level of creepiness.
