Dinosaurs Make the Dryosaurus a beginner's dinosaur

Dryosaurus has been replaced by Estrutiomimo, it is not necessary to place it as a starting dinosaur, unless in challenge mode you can place random choice of places and hope that dryosaurus comes.

I didn't say "replace". I said, make it a starting dinosaur, ie unlock its dig site at the beginning. Unlocking in Sorna is unacceptable.

In the mean time, you can randomise species unlocks when starting a new Challenge mode save, with each species having an equal chance of being unlock able at a certain time (if you didn't know already).

But yeah, doesn't have the greatest stats in the world for where it's unlocked, so it should either be buffed or moved to earlier.

It's not about "greatest", they're actually some of the LOWEST.
It looks to have the highest social max of any dino and has really high space needs compared to the Ornithomimids. Otherwise it's Resilience and Lifespan are identical to a Struthiomimus. I'm guessing there's more gene slots for it, or at least you'd hope so for a Sorna dino. I guess the major thing is that they're really cheap, but that's not really a factor for late game.

In any case, I'd say a buff and price increase is more likely than changing when it's unlocked, as I'm not sure how that'd effect save files.

I was taking about park stats, rather than dino stata - it's a diminishing investment.

We already have enough starter dinosaurs. Adding more to the beginning of the game will screw up the balance and make it too easy.

This game is also not a sequel to JPOG. The mere presence of the Dryosaurus is already a nod to JPOG.

No it's not. It's a nod to the novel.
This starting dinosaur won't screw balance because it fails to improve tourist ratings by even half a star.

Besides "enough": Strut, Edmontosaurus, Ceratosaurus. Wow. So MANY.

I was thinking of having the game to introduce a choice mode to have players decide what dinosaurs they could unlock in each star rating. So we could have challenge mode playthroughs that we could control the choice of digsites and have it cater to how we want to progress fully. That way we have:

• Default digsite: Players choose from the same dinosaur order as the main campaign. (Balanced but predictable).
• Random digsite: Players choose from random access to these dinosaurs (More chance than choice).
• Choice digsite: Players get more control of what to dig per star rating (More choice than chance).

Here is my thread, you may find it interesting :)

I did try randomised digsites - they are randomised but dinosaurs who have to be researched arent affected in the same way.

But you still have to wait until the 3-4 stars in order to research them.
Not all the time.
I once had the dryosaurus in zero and 1 star research. It depends on the new challenge mode you begin. As the challenge mode starts, everything is randomized during the loading sequence. So if you don't find her at the start in one playthrough, you will find her from the start in another.
