Make the Orrery great again...

Come on you folks, we finally have the Orrery map after oh, so many years...
Let's make it what it should have been from day one.

I'll get started:

- I do not think rolling the mouse wheel is the way to go in order to travel (mapwise) dozens of thousands of light years/seconds/whatever?
Let's please double click on a stellar object on the map in order to get on its plane.

It's v1. I expect we'll see some tweaks and QoL improvements in future updates.

That being said, I too hope for a better/quicker way to zoom in/out.

At the risk of posting in a badly named thread, I'd say the solution is simple: have the zoom be logarithmic.

I can’t find a use for the orrery. What do you use it for.
I primarily use it to find relative locations of other planets.
So I can choose to travel to a closer planet instead of one that's at opposition, even though they're next to each other in the normal system map.

Oh, that’s still around?
I looked at it in the beta. Haven’t looked again.
Don’t get what all the fuss was about, it’s nearly useless.
But hey, if you like it... one man’s wiz is another’s fine wine.

Yeah the orrery is still quite basic. But I think if FD improve it a bit, it could be pretty cool for in-system situational awareness. IMHO a first, easy improvement would be to add the locations of all the dynamic objects to the orrery (USS, conflict zones, other ships, etc.).
