Make the T7 a Medium Landing Pad ship, the T6 a Small Landing Pad Ship

Ship is listed as a medium transport. Size-wise, it's smaller than a Python.

Lorewise, having the T6 fit on small pads, the T7 fit on medium pads, and the T9 fit on lage pads works as well. If landing pad sizes are standardised, a company like Lakon would tailor their ships to that as well.

T7 won't fit because it is too tall. It would require remodelling ...
However I fully support it.

Plus add Orca and Imperial Clipper to the remodel list - they also should be medium pad capable. It's the main drawback of those ships.

Also if T6 should be small pad capable, then also Keelback - because it is just remodelled T6.
Anyway as there aren't small pad only stations, it is not that important.

It needs squishing, like this..

I must say that really looks good on her.

But I think the T7 is what it is and that is fine.
I don't believe FDev will remodel the ship anyway.

I have used the T7 myself to earn the money for my next ship, the Clipper, if I remember correctly.
It earned me good money. Of course I agree that it is a shame it can't dock at medium pads, but that simply is the nature of this vessel.

In terms of balance and usability the changes would make sense. But as others already mentioned, it would require reworking the ships models, to actually fit them into the hangars. That's very unlikely to ever happen.

I remember reading somewhere that it would fit in the medium hangar if the hydraulic columns connecting it to the landing skids would compress to lower its height on touchdown at a station.

Don't know if that's true or if someone was talking out of the wrong orifice, but if it is, it wouldn't take much remodeling at all, just a new animation and adapting the collision model to match.

Making the T7 a medium ship would give it more of a role. I don't see much point in shrinking the T6 however, as there are no small-pad-only stations.

A 7 ton van is a medium "transport" vehicle. It's a shizzle ton bigger than a BMW 3 series, though.

Let's just keep it the way that it is.

The clue is in the name. TRANSPORT. It actually makes sense.
