Make visitor beacons more interesting places

I you fly to a interesting site with passengers in space , the only thing you see is a floating beacon and you get a piece of text.
It would be great if there would be something really to see and fly around.
If you go to the battle of Chione(or something like that) the beacon tells you about a big battle. It would be nice to see some floating damaged ships floating around as an memorial thing or monument of the big battle.
For me it would give the game more immersion.
You already flying from " excel" sheet to excel again sheet in the stations and it is a pity that the interesting places in space are not more than text.
Some real things to discover would be great. (like they did with the volcano's at moons)

+1. Excellent idea. I like the visitor beacons, but they're painfully bland, at the moment - even more so than the old in-station adverts, which finally got a good makeover, a few updates back.

I'm thinking plaques and statuary to start. Not sure how to make those look engaging and interesting in a three-dimensional, microgravitational, zoomless environment, but definitely those. They're the basic units of monumentality.

ED has no seriously big video-screens. It has the technology. I see pictorial or even simple video vignettes, perhaps with texts, perhaps with voiceovers, depending on the investment ED wants to give them.

Several Suggestions have been made before for spaceflight museums. I think that fits right in here. All the current beacons in a given system could be consolidated into a single structure, illustrated with all the above, plus non-flyable dummy ships, exemplifying whatever the text discusses - I'm thinking older, more visibly-primitive and angular ships, closer to the ships in earlier versions of Elite.

It's not a big priority, but it seems like a good plan to me.
