Horizons Making a cache of cargo

I cannot store my ship whilst it is laden with any cargo. Is it possible to drop my ill gotten gains on an airless rock thus emptying my hold, put the mining ship into storage and pick up some of the painite, platinum and osmium that I dropped off?

I think that would only work if you did what you are suggesting while using a port on the same planet you dropped the cargo on. Make you sure you jot those coordinates down. Although you never know, might be worth a shot, would defiantly use the same system and check, double check the planet and the co ordinates you are dropping them at.

Or sell your ill gotten cargo on a black market first to save any frustration/disappointment

It might work if you had a friend hold the instance for you. Or better yet, just hold the cargo.

going to try that a bit later tonight with say 5 cheap items leave it in a little place I know not far from town
then go to another station quit out then come back in at that station the fly round to hidden place.
