Making a thread about PvP to end PvP discussions

Plz, for the love of god, stop with the what's up with PvP bull...

if you don't like PvP, play in solo and add ppl to your ignore list, FD has done everything it can to make elite they way you remembered it in your childhood.

If you like PvP but can get enough action, i suggest you take a very close look at the BETA Trailer for ED, especially the part 0:10 to 0:18.

http://youtu.be/-pltB5_f7Ow?t=9s

a sidey fires on a lakon 6 with magic lasers and one shotting him, the station gives him a bounty but he gets away almost unscratched. despite getting owned by two bounty hunters later.

what that short bit of video revealed to me is that station ganking is a viable and valid way to play, otherwise they wouldn't have put it into an official trailer meant to attract new players, period. but this is not the only way to engage in PvP (bounty hunting).

so what am i saying to the griefers and bounty hunters or pirates out there? GET YOUR OWN DAMN ACTIONS! so what if players join the MP in anacondas and vipers armed to the teeth by grinding safely in solo? you can still attack and kill them, it's all up to YOU, your tactics, your loadout, your team mates! you can still kill them inside the stations, outside the stations, wherever! this is a game about you! so stop whining about no PvP, solo/mp all that crap, go out there and start perfecting your skills!

life doesn't get easier we just become stronger. ;)

welcome to the forums friend. this type of thread first appeared when the premium beta testers arrived and so with this thread its the same when the beta testers arrive, and trust me it that this type of thread will pop up when the gamma testers arrive.

Ahh haha, so it is the pvp you all want ? Shooting trade ships docked at the stations? It must be a challenge lol.

If I would want to PVP I woluld be with an anakonda in this video blocking your way out and blow you into pieces.

But seriously this is not PVP for me the PVP comes when bountyhunters go after you and that is when the PVP begins but why do you need only and only PC trader target to start with instead of an NPC( you will have the same bounty anyway) is beyond me.

it's fine to judge me by how i want to play the game, but i don't really care. all i care about is good entertainment.

If you want to PvP so much. Why haven't you started a thread asking for like minded individuals to befriend and compete against.

The majority of people here came from the original games and want to keep the spirit of those titles.

If your too lazy to network with other PvP players go to a conflict zone and take sides and attack players that oppose yours.

Or are you a cheat who wants to guarantee an advantage and only attacks soft targets unawares? (seems to be a common theme in PvP players posts, they want to seal club weak individuals for "entertainment")

Fine... But If the only entertainment for you(I don't care anyone else but my own entertainment people) will be "ruining others" than I wish you good luck getting bored fast without any entertainment followed by a quit.

You don't get it these type of PVPers don't care they don't want a fair fight they want to play their own interpretation of PVP by killing anyone anywhere just because its fun the fair fight is not fun because there maybe they will loose.

Sighs

I'm a simple trader who has made a good few million grinding and working hard to get to where I am in this beautiful galaxy of ours. I haven't had too many altercations with those who choose to play on the wrong side of the law, but I am glad they are out there... It would be a boring game indeed they weren't!
I get that new commanders need time to find their feet without getting space ***** every five minutes, but I think Frontier are working hard to find a balance in the game, without every new backer having to resort to playing single player mode.

Both sides of this argument are valid because this is Elite and that's the beauty of the game! :)

I would have no problem with pirates who will play their role and killing traders doing their role. but ... nvm

I think they really need to change the block functionality. You shouldn't be able to block individuals from joining your instance.

On a side note, how are player interdictions going to function in this current system? I don't see it working long term if you can block all the people who are interdicting.

i'm just saying the way i see it is that FD is promoting PvP as evident in the station grief moment and the bounty hunter moment in the trailer.

whether you have the balls to go against the station or catch criminals off guard is up to you. I think this way it makes the game more interesting. you see, i don't really care about traders or vipers or sideys in the station, i just want to see if i can outsmart the station and it's powerful weapons, the trader isn't the point, the station is.

going against a powerful and potential deadly adversary that will tear u apart when u make one wrong move is captivating and very exciting gameplay for me. the traders(or other ships) are just there as a medium. so i'm hoping that ppl out there on the forums whining about not enough PvP can take note and make your own challenges(which may or may not target traders, as i said, i treat them as a means to an end).

Most of the Pro PvP posts I've read talk about pirating with the goal being: to kill.

Isn't pirating for $?

Maybe the whole answer to this PvP thing is they really mean genocide ..and not pirating :D

In that case yeah.. I guess there are homicidal maniacs out there.. and Elite will continue to be a simulator and not CoD In Space.

Don't take this the wrong way though, play how you want to play and have fun

Nobody is saying docking pvp is good. Docking pvp is bad and should be removed

Whats the problem than you ask? EVeryone who is worrth bounty hunting wil be playing solo... you wont even see anybody... already in s.beta there is noone.

I am a simple trader as well in Pbeta I did plenty of the war zones, well enough to get my type 9 you do the math on the kills that took. But see that has bored me and I enjoy meeting ppl and flying trade runs with them. But some ppl on here like to attack traders. Why because they are little challenge due to the fact traders are looking for distance and have no weapons, and already have weak shields, the whole reason Frontier have done all they could is because this was meant to be a friendly game, not a giant death match.

After many many deaths from these types of players and well nothing being done to change this I have chose a different play course. I am sorry to all of those that play like me. But I have lost hundreds of thousands to these ppl. So now my only point of playing this game is to kill any ship I see, war zone or not. Whats funny is nothing will happen cause that's how these ppl on these threads are saying its meant to be played so lets play.
