Making exploration viable for smaller ships. At a credit cost.

FD, There are only three ships in the game that have two Size 1 slots. The two Eagles, and the Sidewinder. After this, all small ships either have only one Size 1 slot, or none at all.

Only the three ships I mentioned can fit the ADS & DSS for exploration, and take up all the space offered by the module slots housing them. A cobra Mk III being flown for exploration will have four tonnes of module space wasted by the fact you're using Size 1 equipment in its Size 2 slots.

This got me thinking. Maybe you, FD, could consider introducing a new Size 2 module that combines the ADS & DSS into one single Size 2 block. Of course, I would increase its value. Maybe 2-3 million credits, more even, for the privilege of freeing up a module for something like an extra AFMU. This way you are paying for a genuine upgrade from the slots saved.

Introducing this new proposed module, will greatly increase the capacity of small ship classes to explore, which currently, are all limited by their small internal capacity, with the exception of the Cobra Mk IV. Indeed, this module would cause the Diamondback Explorer to become a new competitor in exploration, as this module means that a ship needs only five internal compartments to be able to maintain itself out in the black. One for a combined ADS/DSS, one for a shield, one for a fuel scoop, one for an AFMU, and one for an SRV hangar. Presently only the Cobras have the current minimum of six slots to be a self-sufficient explorer, out of the small ship classes.

Anyway, this is just a thought I had, and I hope you can consider my proposal, FD.

All the best, Alicorn.
