I'll summarize it. The Devs are aiming for Min March for Alpha 3.0. There is talk among tester if this will be the case, how long Alpha 3 will last, when Beta will start, when gamma will start...

A look at the Alpha forum topics, pretty much what you see here is available as a discussion on other parts of the forum, your not missing anything that is going to change your life,
Your photoshop skills get better and better! Good job at disguising how fun and groovy the alpha forum really is.
I don't have alpha access but don't feel I'm missing out on anything by not having access to that forum.
I'm happy that those who spent the extra to get alpha have a space to discuss the nitty gritty about it. There are already enough subforums to monitor!

It is true that we are well informed of the alpha on other forums. There are also many of videos. Personally I do not have time to read the questions / answers on the bugs. But if the alpha in read-only on the forums is available, it does not disturb me. For me, having access to the DDF reading is more important
I updated to Alpha just last week and seriously guys and gals there is no gossip that you are missing out on in the General forum that is in the Alpha forum.
As has been said already on this thread, word gets out quickly and Pecisk's thread sums up what's going on and what's planned.
Time passes and the various phases will arrive. I just couldn't wait any longer and had some cash spare to indulge!

Awesome! Now if that was stickied so everyone could see it all the time, and updated on a weekly basis, I bet you anything a lot of the gripes about communication and not knowing what's going on would disappear.
I don't think anyone's really wanting more ooh and aah stuff, it's more just wanting to know about the state of development and that sort of thing.
I talked with T.J. about sticky status, but we both agreed that it is already too crowded in sticky front on General, so it is much better just to subscribe to my thread, and you will even get email alert when it is updated
It wouldn't bother me if others had read access.
But honestly it doesn't read any differently than what is posted in the general or PBf.
