Making time go faster ; Methods

I want time to go faster so I can play elite again after about thirty years.
I don't want all the testing to suffer but damn it can't you use the hyperspace technology to bend spacetime?

I've spent Loads of munny to get on the second Beta but that's gonna be ages away too!

Can't anyone make time go faster?
Perhaps I can get in my Cobra Mk III that I keep in my garage, fly to Alpha Centauri in a couple of jumps and then return .The game will be ready when I get back?

I
All you need to do is fly close to the speed of light and you can time travel forward. Just be carful not to actually reach light speed though, that would be bad :D

try one or more of:


  • hypnosis
  • meditation
  • cryogenic freezing
  • not watching the kettle

not time travel, but will make time appear to travel at a faster rate, and your long-awaited for thing to happen with little to no effort!

I'd suggest to watch all series of the Star Trek. And then Seinfeld and then Sopranos. You'd find yourself lost in these neverlands for 20 weeks, which is, as reported in another thread, is exact count of weeks till launch!

book an exam for april and buy a few text books, open the first page and a week will disappear in the blink of an eye, before you even read the second chapter exam time will be here and the gamma will already be out!

Space Engine recently released an update. I'm wasting a lot of hours there :) Star Dreamer not required also. And I can also suggest playing old renewed games of old games you might have played, like XCOM. I think I'm on my 80'ish playthrough right now. Or thereabouts :D And I played the original just as much back in the old days...

Hmm, a dangerous strategy. I might watch breaking bad and all of deep space nine and voyager aswell and possibly some others! Then I would be dead before I finished and would not get to play Elite Dangerous atall due to being a Dead Fred!

I like the idea of DRRRIIINK though. Might try that one.... :)

Orbiting a black hole at a significant percentage of the speed of light could be an option. Personally, as my Zafira won't achieve this, I intend to catch up on all those games I bought on Steam sales and never had a chance to play.

Either that, or I will develop a gambling habit so I can skim my own money from the joint account, and get in the Beta.

Yeah, orbit a black hole... Might get a bit dizzy.
Does a black hole's diameter get smaller the more massive it is?
I mean to travel round the Schwarzschild Radius at close to light speed is like a really small fast roundabout. They just make you puke!
Might give that one a miss.
Why not just fall towards it for a long time and slingshot around? less dizzying!

Don't think I'm any good at gambling but just skim the joint account anyway and get the Beta.

Delorians are made of aluminium and are therefore probably suffering from metal fatigue so per haps I'll avoid that one.

Skim the joint account and develop a nice little smack habit? perhaps not.

Tempted to try and make my own time-travelling automobile but have arrived at a sticking point. Unfortunately, I feel that I am more likely to find a working flux-capacitor on eBay than get 88mph out of my sensible seven seater.

Where we're going we don't need roads - what we do need is a 3 mile run up, a favourable incline and a following wind.

Oh, and Dead Fred, just say no. Grange Hill said so.
