Mamba HUD oddities

Mamba only? Bug? Really? All ships in the game have different UI scales/sizes. I'm pretty sure this is by design because this (among with other aspects) makes feel the ships different...

Taking your word for it.

I've been considering VR but I'm a mouse/keyboard player and very happy with it... don't think this would work well in VR, though, would it?

Don't see why not tbh. Are you UK based? I need to pick up a CV1, the strap on my current one is falling apart, could lend you that for a while.

It really makes sense if you try VR, probably be good to borrow an old DK2 or something, I have an old spare one but it's out in the Middle East at the moment. A lot of the visuals don't make sense in ED until you actually sit inside the ship viewing at 1:1 scale.

@thistle - Yes, absolutely amazing environment in VR, I just sat in mine at a port for a good 30 mins or so taking it all in. Still haven't kitted it out though.
Me neither, I can't get past just boosting out the slot and expecting the catamaran thingys to whack into something. Its mesmerising.

Yes, the HUD is further away from the pilot's seat on the Mamba than on most other ships.

The FDL is very similar and they haven't changed that in almost four years, so I don't see them changing it here.

It is rather annoying when it comes to scooping cargo/materials though.

I'm sure this was logged during the Beta.
So either it's too trivial to fix right now or 'working as intended'

Has the landing gear bug been fixed yet ? ( shows as being down on external views regardless ).

Works fine if you can touch type. I use throttle+mouse for combat in VR myself.

Actually it was okay in VR, the Mamba does feel more different from other ships in VR.

I use a Hotas most of the time but now ED can actually run on Linux( using wine ) I bought a wireless controller(xbox like) so I can play on my laptop - it's taken a while ( and couple of re-buys, landing is hard with a new controller! ) but I can now play okay with it.

Interesting... The station menu has been fixed. Another fix not mentioned in the patch notes.... wondering what else they have fixed.

Edit: Landing gear has been fixed, too.
