General / Off-Topic man cements microwave oven to his head

I delighted in telling the story of a Darwin award candidate that polyfiledd his head into a microwave oven. All was well until someone said 'Why didn't they turn the microwave on, that would sort him out'.

I shouldn't have worried!!

Just a bit of oven FYI: Charles Babbage the originator of the programmable computer (1791-1871) once baked himself in an oven at 265°F (130°C) for four minutes to "see what would happen."

He's pretty lucky this didn't end up as a Darwin award.

Apart from the whole suffocating thing, some plaster and cement like materials (luckily not this one) are exothermic when they set.

Plaster of Paris is one such material and there was a traffic case a few years back when a teenager lost her hands after trying to make a cast of them in a bucket of plaster. By the time they managed to break the plaster away from her hands, they'd been cooked and they had to be amputated.

In this man's case the amputation of his head might not have been so serious as it's clearly not an overly used part of his body.....

oh you know you love me https://youtu.be/gneBUA39mnI ;)

Don't encourage them. They made a post that if I had made and used the word American, in the place of Britain, I would have it edited and be given a warning.

I see you kick against the blue team. :D
But yes, you're right, it was an unnecessary post.

Britain isn't race.

Technically no it isn't; it is an archipelago. But it is possible to define British people as a group of nations that form a state and thus make a racist comment. To be fair I don't think that was actually the intent and he was just making a light hearted comment. ;)

And so was I. :)
