Today was the first time I sniffled in front of my computer. My wife walked past and asked what the hell happened, as I had just let out a blood curdling scream that I am sure even the neighbors heard a few houses down the road...

I just got my anaconda 3 days ago... outfitted with mostly B rated equipment and blew around 200m credits. I was joyous... My first experience was scraping the crap out of the dock envelope, but all was good.. I discovered how awesome it was in combat, expecting mostly it was only really good for trading.. All was good in my life.

I got cocky.. isnt that always what happens.. I saw a wing of 3 pythons all wanted, and all I could hear in the back of my mind was Cha-Ching, Cha-Ching, Cha-Ching.. The first one went down, but I was loosing shields fast and decided to bail after running out of recharges.. I hit boost.. and flew away.. but.. not very fast.. Im watching my armor slowly vanishing, and I start to panic, but my frameshift drive is slowly kicking in.... then it happened.. module malfunction... my thrusters have died.. Next thing I know my hud dies and I see explosions... at first I am in denial.. then start thinking.. my god, did I leave enough for insurance.... and I get to the insurance screen....



200,000 credits short...

I screamed
I cried..
I loaded up my FREE sidewinder and whimpered out of space dock....

My wife thinks I'm strange.. but I know some of you will feel my pain..

I learned my lesson..... Paid for it in Man Tears.

Sympathy Commander and kudos for not coming in here complaining that you didn't know you had to have insurance, you didn't know the loan wouldn't cover you shortfall, FD should give you the cost of your ship etc.

No, sorry, no sympathy here. Try sending ticket to frontier. They are known for giving back player's ships when they don't have enough for insurance although it's totally players fault.

You are lucky. Imagine how you would feel if the difference was only 1 cr.

Now you have the chance to fly all the fun ships again. You know how to earn money fast and you can ignore it and do what ever you want to do just for the fun of doing it without the pressure to get that Anaconda.
Fly back to Everate and join the stream of new players that stumble around in wonder. Do silly things just because you can, free from the slavery of money.

The galaxy is yours, blaze your own trail, fly save (and with insurance )

wow! i have no idea how i would react to that..... I swore and raged when i accidentally killed my python loaded with mined goods and bounties (hit silent running before going afk for 5 mins in an emergency).... but i was insured so net loss maybe 4 hrs of play

but if that happened! <gulp>. oh well, what does not kill you makes you stronger. You have my sympathies CMDR. next time tho, get that insurance buffer or at least keep a back up ship so you do not go all the way back.

Judging by that re buy cost you didn't buy your Anaconda with the 15% discount. Is it too much to add to your grief that if you'd got the discount you could have afforded the re buy.


The credit system really only covers you for the smaller ships. An unlimited credit would be better with increasing rates of interest. So up to 5m it's 10%, up to 10m it's 25%, 25m it's 50% and so on.
