Management for Dummies

I did a search on management and didn't find a thread devoted to changes Planet Coaster needs. But I've heard a lot of talk about Planet Coaster needing more of it. So I was wondering what is needed? What would make Planet Coaster better because it was added?

I would like to be able to advertise for a new ride in the park like we used to have to attract new customers.

These are the most important for me. But frontier is not willing to touch it appearently. It was all listed in he linked threads in the post above.

1) Balancing
- finances needs to be balanced. Costs and incomes. This goes hand in hand with second point.

2) Guests, happines and park attendance
Guess happines is, at this point, sort of "static" and doesn´t react very dynamicaly. It´s also VERY easy to please our guessts. This should be re-balanced in general.

- From what I observed, number of visitors is influenced mainly by number of attractions + guest happines. But guest happines seems to have very low impact on that on general.
* when you keep game running for days, number of visitors or their happines will not change (even if decades passed in the game) Question, as a guest, would you be still happy and visiting the park, if it had no change or new ride build in 10 years span? I don´t think so. Guest should be less happy after some time, if no news are introduced to the park and attendace should get lower.

- Guest should also consider ride quality (see next point)

- "Guest brain" is way too random, this should be tweaked in general.

- Advert. campaigns should be re-worked, get more back to the roots and work more like it used to work in previous RCT games.

3) Ride prestigue and rides in general

-
There should be a general balance done
- Maintenance should play bigger role here
* if the maintenance is not good, ride gets rough, therefore get´s lover ratings for guests that are less happy.
** If the maintenance doesn´t improve and is very bad, more serious malfunctions and accidents where visitors can get hurt/die -> Very bad rating for the park, significant drop of attendance and financial fines from the government.

4) Difficulty re-balance

- This is very bad in PC currently. Not sure what they wanted to achieve with the highest difficulty, but it´s only pure frustration at the beggining and then it´s very easy, when you overcome the rough start of the game. All it is about is they gave you less money to work with at the start and adjusted, how many visitors will come to the park depending of the number of rides present in the park. That is very lazy, amateurish and horrible game design decision I wouldn´t expect from experienced developers such as Frontier is!

From memory some of the above may be changeable using the Scenario Editor - the only caveat of that though is that it's then a custom scenario rather than a sandbox or similar.

That's true, there is a lot the scenario editor is handy for, at least for making the game harder, like guests not being so happy all the time, but then you have the issue of editing it yourself, where others would rather only click a play button somewhere instead. It not being sandbox doesn't seem to be the issue here, as it's about managemen, and in sandbox you wouldn't want that.

Breezer does point out a lot of the management suggestions there has been made, some of them might help the game to improve.
