Management Question

Hi all

I'm super excited to get this game soon. I've been watching some pretty amazing user parks and hope to be doing that very soon. The reason I haven't yet bought the game is that I REALLY enjoy the money management aspect of these types of games. It doesn't interest me near as much to just have a free reign to put what ever I want where ever I want with no consideration for cost. So I think I will likely hold out until the management aspects of the game are introduced.

So here's my question (probably fairly obvious by now): Does anyone have a clue yet as to when in the release plan these management options will be introduced? I've heard that phase 2 in May will have the roller coasters and the terrain editing tools, but that is about all I've found really.

Thanks in advance for any response. And look forward to seeing more of your park designs.

Hi Turkwhip, I think the management side of the game will come towards the final release to be honest. The next phase (two) will introduce the Landscaping tools and a few more Themes and building sets. After that, we might get more Coasters and maybe a few Transport rides and maybe another couple of Themes (phase three). Then there is the Water side of the development which we haven't really heard anything about yet, but I expect that Water and Water rides will come more or less together and maybe the Management (phase four).

Not much is known about management other then they plan to tie it with creativity. Guests appreciate more theming, advertising food will increase sales, having certain objects center of attention increases happiness, having premium brands means higher quality therefor increasing willingness to pay more, modifying ride actions for all types of people to allow them to stay and spend more money, etc. They also advertise finding how well your park is doing via reactions: heading down low and seeing how your guests react, instead of through emotes above their heads.

I assume the whole kit and kaboodle will be available in due time, like marketing, micromanaging, security and vandalism (we saw a video for that one), path flow, etc.

In one thread, they just indicates the following after phase1, but don't give any more details:

"As we enter the other phases of the alpha we may well add additional changes such as content, an increased (but not final) level of park management simulation and of course bug fixes and optimisations."

Well....[cry]. Maybe they will put in a basic management system soon and then tweak it as it becomes more complicated. That would be super fine with me. One would think charging admission and/or ride pricing would be one of the first steps in that process. But, of course, it maybe more complicated than I'm making it out to be. (fingers crossed). In the mean time I may have to rethink the "waiting a bit to buy this" thing.

As I understood it, there was not going to be a big focus on Water Rides for the basic game. There will be some water rides but it will not be very expanded. They will probably also want to keep a part for expansions or DLC I think?

I'd be happy with just log flumes and basic rapids (and possibly a boat slide like in the original RCT). Then they can flog the rest of the water rides/water parks in an expansion/DLC when they have time to work on them properly.

same here..

Log Flume
River Rapids

And a few "slow boat" rides. Those can be on the same track, just different car types.
When we have just those we have like 90% covered of rides you find in most parks.

Oh yeah, forgot about those boat rides in the original RCT. There were loads of different types of boats and either with a track or free roam, can't imagine it would be too difficult to implement a few of them once they sort out the water mechanics.

We got a glance of the management. At least i hope so, because someone reported it as bug and i think it is not.

When you build a coaster and make a queue to the path, the small guests will line up to ride it, though it is closed. They want to be first to ride it.
There is an employee at the entrance, but in reality you also would have to put a barrier at the entrance to provide them from going in.

I hope they make it challenging, as in not too easy. Almost going bankrupt is part of the fun and rush of games like this. [up]
