While supporting all suggestions about making the lights switchable or dimmable this is something else.
The front lights should be angled so they are on the same axis as a line from our head position when at the controls and the window under the console then they would illuminate what we can actually see whilst landing. But should only be done after the lights have been made useful for seeing with rather than a weapon for blinding ourselves.
