How do you know there's no life? To quote Michael Brooks. Life is plentiful, Sentient alien life is very rare, and only happened in 3 (know) instances.

On the contrary Commander, I've scanned many planets with life on... Earth-Like planets always have carbon based life on. Until we can land, I have no idea what that life is though. There are two more levels of scan not implemented yet, one would hope one of them is a detailed life scanner!

Well, apart from the Thargoids, who we know ARE coming soon, I really do hope so, when you look at the size of our galaxy, there just HAS to be other intelligent life flying around!
