Many stations removed since 1.1

So what about stations that have dissapeared completely?

In Alya system, Malaspina Gateway has gone and there are no stations now in that system, what's happened to them?

Speaking of stations being renamed, what about this...

It's Engle Hub according to the system display, but FSP#5992 is painted on it :)

That's gotta be a bug!

Boo. I have a kitted out Cobra AND a T6 whicc I had left in Zamyatin Station in Gebel. I went off for 2 days to do some exploring in another Cobra. Of course, the station has now vanished and I can't find my ships, though the Shipyard tells me they are in Gebel.

Ticket time then...

Odd how they talk so much about realism and immersion on subjects like external ship views then suddenly decide to redraw the whole galaxy.

I think the name changes are here to stay. Names are going to change in the future to, so they are going to fix that.

So it is still possible that one day, Jacques' station will not only pop up at a different location, but also as an outpost, with a different name, and a different bartender?

They didn't decide to. It's a bug.

Obviously your helmet is clouding your vision of what's REALLY happening. It seems very plain to see that FD really despises all of us and are intentionally sabotaging their own livelihoods just to make spaceman gamers unhappy.

WAKE UP AND SMELL THE ASHES

Jaques is no ordinary station... and Jaques is no ordinary bartender.

Okay - So when Krushchev came to power and wanted the country to be known for something other than Stalin - He renamed Stalingrad as Volgograd. Now, for nine days every year, the city is known as Stalingrad once more, and Putin wants to name it back as Stalingrad, so long as the population want it.

Same thing. Different rules come to power, they want to put their mark on the stations, they start renaming things. It's the conqueror's/freedom fighter's mentality. Erase the old, write the new. "It was always called that, the feds never respected our traditions. Now we'll called Lughy Station!!!"

(As far as the programming behind works... the station names are generated. That station name generation is based on the major faction in power. That faction changes, the Station Names also change. Simples. Er... Boss. You do realise what that means? It'll be fine. Hey? My mission says this station... Ooops. Why didn't you tell me this would happen? Er... I did... ahem, sort of. Well sort it out, man. This is going to happen a lot.)

No, I think they've fixed the bug (or at least have a work-around to fix the re-names as and when they happen), and in any case I doubt that Jacques' station is handled like a normal station. I don't think we will be able to change its factional allegiance with regular trading and missions. I suspect that it's implemented more like a capital ship than a station.
