Map data about incursions is out of date?

I'm trying to work on my combat rank and looking to fight some Thargoid Scouts. Best way? Probably the AX Combat Zones in systems during "incursion".

Alas, it seems to me the map shows outdate information. Just now I was in Opet (even noted as having Thargoid activity in Galnet)... not a single Thargoid in sight, let alone any AX CZs.

What's going on here? Is the map information unreliable?

Damn! Now I feel like an idiot. I didn't use either. Tho, in my defense, I was sure I didn't use either last night either, and saw the AX CZs immediately...

Also pointless, since Thargoid invasion will come when FDevs are ready, their effort is commendable. From 15 incursions to just 5 new ones each week.

But my question is regarding the in-game tools surrounding Thargoid incursions; not a general "where are they and how do I find them" question. It seems the tools are not updating fast enough.

I've been hunting Thargoids in HR 826 earlier today, and just came back and there's no AX CZs in sight (yes, I honked and scanned), despite the system still being in an incursion state.
