I just started in to exploration about a week ago and one of the things that I think might be helpful for is the addition of a map filter based on whether or not your ship/suit/whereeverdataisstored has any kind of exploration data for a system. It would work similar to the way the cartographic filter works when you are docked at a station. Systems you have any exploration data on would be displayed in one color while systems you don't have any data on would be displayed with a grey circle.
I feel like this would help people who are interested in being thorough in their explorations of certain areas of space. Right now, doing so means that you need to hover over a system to see if you have data for it or not. By adding a filter that can visually show the existence of system data, this time could be saved. It could also help people who can't remember the name of the system they were in after making a long jump. People could see where they were instead of having to remember or write down a string of letters and numbers.
