Is there any good star map tutorial? This thing is so confuse... rarely this do what I expect. I may be using in the wrong way.

I had some YT vids in my native language that helped me with the basics, just be aware of outdated/other versions with different interfaces.
Also, the most confusing for me was the filters you can apply to stars: I didn't understand why they had different colors, or less than usual... Turned out those filters allow you to sort systems by different criterias having their own set of colors, so for example you can disallow those not interesting you. Give a try on your left map menu, under the 'Pilots federation' menus, you'll find submenus there for those filters that come handy if tou try to find systems at war, a certain type of star, or whatnot.
Switch to ''realistic'' mode from time to time if you think you messed your filters, then check for ticked/unticked.
Also, you can move around your flat blue cursor, spawning stars on a radius around it, but that can be confusing since you can have the camera and the cursor away from each other. Click on the system you are with your mouse to refocus if that happens.
