Hardware & Technical Mapping T.Master HOTAS One - So Confusing

Booted this back up on the PC with the new update as there is so much more things available PC side to help enhance the gameplay.

If I remember correctly from back in April when I last played I was 2.5kly outside the bubble in a diamondback explorer.

I'm looking to get my joystick mapped properly for jumping back in and making the long way back to the bubble to work on engineers.

I've googled guides and pictures but honestly I'm just so confused.

Is there a simple guide for mapping my Thrustmaster HOTAS One in a decent set up that even a simpleton like me could follow.

Thanks in advance and happy flying commanders.

Another tip - set one (or more) joystick button as a SHIFT button to double the number of actions the other buttons can carry out.

E.g I have SHIFT+Fire1 as chaff.

Flat Screen or VR?

This will make a huge difference to how you map your HOTAS.

(With VR you basically can't see or use the keyboard so your button choices could be quite different. In VR, non-time critical functions which can be activated from the side menu's don't have to waste valuable space on a HOTAS button...)

Ultra pro tip: you can use another controller as a shifter (e.g. mouse button 5).
With keyboard as a shifter You may have 2.000 binds on Your Hotas. :p

*laughing with my MFD cougar*

Personally I like the yaw twist on my joystick for steering the SRV. I do like how your suggestion could free up that hand to facilitate more beer drinking though..

Thanks man, I'll dig around while the servers are on fire

I love breakout gadgets n that but think I prefer being able to apply any and all controls without taking my hands off the HOTAS

@CMDR Macatord: Are You using S-Curves or it is not needed?

Hotas One has 4% deadzone vs 12% on my Hotas-X so I have to use that utility.
