Newcomer / Intro mapping

Hi I have bought a new ship but I cant seem to map a planet any more has something changed

Have you set up your fire groups?

And installed a DSS?

... and have you installed a Detailed Surface Scanner in an optional module slot? (I was surprised that the pre-built "Stellar" C5 didn't have one and then found on landing on a planet that the vehicle hangar was empty - no SRV - was a bit annoyed - all-in-all a waste of 33,000 Arx.)
