Marco Qwent. I've been doing a bunch of grinding for engis, but this is by far the worst yet. Not only do you have to be allied, you have to then get a permit. And then get a mission to unlock. AND then you need Mod Terminals... AKA, the things ive been venting into space because they were clogging my cargo and reducing my jump range... And now I find out I need them and can't buy them.

This is too much. RNG collectathons are bad enough on their own, combined with the above its really aggravating.

So uh, anyone feel like donating some? Or know a good system to farm for them?

I had 16 MTs in my hold when I stupidly flew sideways in through the mail slot, got wedged, and then destroyed by the station.

I'm now allied with Sirius Corp, got my permit, had my Qwent invite, and now I have one MT that I came across in a mission.

So no, I'm not sympathetic at all :)

I unlocked him a couple weeks ago. I went to Wu Guinagi / HIP 10716 and did courier missions back and forth. Only took me about an hour to get the 25 modular terminals.

Go to one of the rank grind systems e.g. Wu Guinagi <-> HIP 10716, Niu Hsing <-> Col Sector...

That way you can stack loads of missions to the same destination. Niu Hsing worked well for me doing this with one of my alt cmdrs.

Actually, I found Marco Qwent absolutely trivial. Having spent a few days in Sothis last year, I was already allied with Sirius, so as soon as I docked in a Sirius controlled station I got my permit.

The Modular terminals took around 1 hour to get, 0 to 25. All the stations in all the systems around Sirius had, at least, one very easy 1 jump courier missions which granted 4 units, so I didn't even have to refresh the missions or change to Solo to check.

Then some Sulphur to get Qwent to lvl 3 or 4, and off I went in my Python (urgh...) into the black to get a Palin invitation.

Currently sitting 2000 LYs away from the bubble. It's taking SO LONG to hit 5.000 because I am finding plenty of systems with undiscovered stars and planets. When I find a system wich apparently has not been scanned at all, I am scanning every single planet and moon out there.

No need to rush!

True. I did suicide after 5000 ly. Still regreting doing that. I could use that data to unlock Alioth or for reputation with some engineers, and save me weeks of grinding.
