Hi, I have read and watched a few answers re Markus but I am still a little hazy on details. I have Elvira comfortably to rank 3. I do not have Marco on my list of engineers. Should he now be there?

I have got my Sirius pass, I am allied level with Sirius. I have my 25 + terminals. I have looked for an unlocking mission in Sirius but not found anything. I have read that this unlock mission is elusive. Do I keep looking or do I go back engineering with Elvira?
Does the unlock mission in Sirius then give me Markus on my engineer list or should I already have that from Elvira?

Love these forums compared to other Morgs, v few trolls .. dammit, don't mention the trolls. I mentioned them once but I think I got away with it.

I believe that you need to get the predecessor engineer to about rank 3.5 for the unlock to happen. Also frequently a relog is required to make it happen. Yeah, I know...

I am with @Dragsham here. I find it always both quite easy and very helpful to unlock engineers immediately to grade 5.
Cheap Tip: You progress steadily but more and more slowly to Grade 5 even when only engineering G1 with materials traded down. Once you're high enough or lost patience you can do the final G5, wasting far less precious high grade materials.
Make sure to pin some blueprint important to you. You can get the experimental also at a G1 engineer. I find pinned blueprints (remote workshop at a station) also the only reliable way to quickly check the detailed engineering grade of modules in-game besides the G5 engineers for that specific blueprint themselves. Inara can show them, but with some delay.
(We should have two G5 shield booster engineers in the bubble. Didn't make the trip to Colonia yet.)

If Marco isn't on your list then you need to get to rank 4 with Elvira or at least closer to it.
Then keep checking the mission boards for the Sirius Corporation that you have the highest standing with for the invitation also check your inbox as it will show there if a mission isn't required.
