Marker limpets

Hello,
I would like to make a suggestion for improving game play. I would like to suggest a "Marker Beacon". The uses for this are only bound by the pilots imagination, they could be used for marking that rare Osseus you saw whilst out counting Cacti so when you've finished gathering genetic material on the Cactoida you can go back to that thing you saw earlier.
They could mark a racetrack for ships or SRV's
They could make "Goalposts" for SRV "Football" using guardian orbs
They could mark the limits of a "No Fire" or Exclusion zone so you could fire into it with impunity.
Found a good rock to mine pop a marker on it for wingmates or in case you are full and want to return after selling up
The list goes on and on.
I understand how reticent you are to make permanent changes to the galaxy as a change in one place can affect everywhere but, by using limpets, these markers could be temporary. The time they last and the number available to be placed dependant on the class of limpet controller. Not only that there is space in the mining multi limpet controller (or the Xeno one for that matter) for a marker limpet to be added although an hour or longer duration would be useful if running games or returning from selling processed ore.
Appearance wise they could look like the columns of light generated by guardian energy pylons or even pulse.
Many thanks for your time

Even just being able to save a coordinate in space in your bookmarks. Like, literally, where my ship is right now, bookmark that location. We already have the ability to create persistent bookmarks for things like stations and bases, so why not one for "right here, X marks the spot" (well technically, I guess it's actually x,y,z marks the spot).

Expanded bookmarks (to include any position anywhere, especially on planets) is more realistic suggestion.

Elite is based on instances that reset when noone is around. Limpets would expire too, or they would need to be made into persistent objects, which is unlikely.

As a compromise, why not have say 3 temporary beacons that can be dropped from your SRV and picked up via your cargo scoop later. We already have temporary markers (when scanning bio signs the last 2 are shown with distance on your compass) so use this same approach. The markers can have a battery life of say 2 hours, after which you lose them for good. You could restock if you lose them, just like limpets.
