Market Flucuations Drastic?

So I found a system with a product that was S/B at 15k. I leave to a system and buy the same product at 10k. I return to the first system to sell product at 5k profit and I am golden right?? Nope..within the 10 min I was gone the system at 15k S/b is now 10K S/B..so ZERO profit. Is this really had bad the market is or does the system adjust the prices based on what I bought no matter where to screw me over?

Small system with small needs?

is there any way through oru actions at the moment that we can affect the size of a system, the addition of new starports, the economy, i know we can influence the government, but say we trade with a small system can we make it grow ( or shut it down) how far does our influence extend at the moemtn and are the devs going to expand things

There have been several market fixes over the past couple of days, most recently a server fix this morning that has corrected issues with the market system.

When you say S/B - what do you mean by that? Sell / Buy ? The station that you were trying to trade with, was it demanding the commodity or supplying the commodity? And the same thing with the other station you flew to and bought the commodity from.

What type of station were you trying to sell the commodity to? What type of station did you buy the commodity from? What was the commodity?

It wasnt Imperial Slaves by any chance was it? If so I saw that too but its a display bug. I ran off and got my Type-9, filled it up and thought I'd make a killing but it went back to the correct price. Seen it a few times in different stations since.

It might be a bug, but it appears not be display only:
Every market update either generates the low price version or the high price version. If you find a supply in the low price version and a demand in the high price version, you can make a profit from it.

Oh yeah, that's right. 15k ---- 10k .... That certainly sounds like Imperial Slaves.

Has it been confirmed it's just a display bug? Or are the figures really jumping around like that?

Also, has this "display bug" affected any other commodities?

Yep just happened again..station was Sell/Buying at 15k...got one trip in with profit made another run and prices dropped by 5k per item. I guess there are that many people taking advantage of live market data...

The market seems completely random. I have been going back and forth from a circuit of systems and it seems that these stations update to a decreased market price as soon as a sale is made some unit level (I have been using 30-36 units of cargo). I go back to the same system a bit later and the prices are all jacked up again where I expected to buy low even though their supply is listed as "High" and in the 200k+ tons of material for sale and it's for sale at top price instead of rock bottom.

It's basically a crap shoot as to when a station will decide to buy high or sell low...
