Market Network Not Increasing

Hello,

I'm having an issue where I am trading commodities but I am not getting an increase to my Market Network. I'm trying to do this to unlock an engineer but I'm stuck.

Any help would be appreciated,

CMDR AD4PRES[GG]

It can seem slow to update, it will change as you play or by relogging. When starting again I make sure I buy and sell one item in each station I visit - soon rack up the 50 needed.

Yup I tried it all and still no luck. I read on a locked post from 2018 where devs had a list of people and magicked the bug away. Send help lol

Edit: Commodities traded number is increasing. Does a profit need to be made for it to count?

FWIW: I am playing with the EDDB trading routes … going to lots of new stations … buying/selling.
My market network is also not increasing … and relog does not ‘update’ it either.

what I find odd is I have elite rank in trading and have never even heard of a market network...…….
I just purchased low shipped and sold high
or maybe I have and just did not know it was called that?
(@maybe few hours a week this took years but In a game i don't rush for jack)

OK … I thought I would return to Horizons … and check this out a little.

Returning to Horizons … all my keybindings had been trashed. Not Cool!!! I limped through using the defaults …
The flying around stations in Odyssey is way quicker and smoother than Horizons … Horizons is jerky by comparison … cool! … thanks FDEv
The New Galaxy map in Odyssey is way better EXCEPT when you load your ship after plotting a route. The older Horizons would re-plot the route as soon as you went back to the galaxy map … Odyssey does not … you have to find the system … then the station … then re-plot (Not cool !)

Back to the OP … After a couple of trades at new systems … and a relog in Horizons … and then a restart in Horizons … still no change to the Market network count … this is not an Odyssey thing!

Returning to Odessey … all my key bindings have gone again … it will take hours rto set them up again with that awful UI (joy button 1 could be any one of three different controllers etc. And the UI does not tell you!!) …. Arghh … the joys of BETA testing. Wish I had not tried this. not a happy camper … I will probably walk away from the game for a while … games should not be losing user data like this.

BTW. After all of this, the market network figure is still stuck on what it was. I wonder if it has gone like the ‘level 3 scans’ … except that it is needed to unlock an engineer.

my odyssey binds are called PUPPYCONTROL 4.0.binds
as my guide is old now

Hi.

I have just read that thread and there are now custom 4.0 binds files as well as 3.0 files. I presume that these relate to odyssey.

I do not know if you can still edit the OP in that thread, especially since the thread itself is locked.

Thanks again.

no cant edit
yea I use STRONTIUM DOG CONTROL 3.0.when playing horizons selected from the control options preset menu in game controls menu
when playing odd I use PUPPYCONTROL 4.0.BINDS also selectable from the preset menu in game also
if you want to boot a preset from the boot up edit the start preset.start file to the name (step 3)

Remember - Oddity calls 4 binds in its startup - the fourth is for on-foot. I find that even though I use the same name for my real-game binds (3.0) and the Oddity one (4.0) - if I do any on-foot at all then going back into Horizons I am left in "default context" controls. I just have to re-select my binds name from the drop-down list.

Note that the on-foot defaults to something else when going the other way ("control pad" in my case) - so I created a separate binds file to let me use the controls I want on foot (a mixture of M&K and controller) - "mousey pad". ;)

So, basically switching between the real game and Oddity and vice versa requires re-selecting one name from the drop-down each time (one for Horizons and one for the on-foot block of Oddity controls).

Why they couldn't find a way to use a different StartPreset.start for the two games is beyond me. But then again with the obvious inc**p**ence on show there I should not be surprised - I mean still no "save as" nearly six years into the game.

(I have to asterisk that word as apparently suggesting F D is "that" can result in obtaining an infraction on the forum. ! )

yea I suppose but as is generally suffices and i canni be bothered! to bother mods;)
I would have thought given the post age pre odd and logic one would assume version 4.0 binds are newer and rename accordingly as folbo did(or is still doing lol)
once made aware of its exsistence
