Market-Trading..... help!

Hello commanders :)

Well, I'm a bit lost now... When I buy something, I check 2 things: that the average galaxy price is much higher than what I buy, and that there is an EXPORT system marked on the right hand.

Problem? It barely works! I found a market-ware on the map which had an import point... this import point (system) had another import point so it was logic that this 2nd import point was cheaper... and I found a 3rd one... So, if the first point sells the ware, who sells the ware, who sells the ware, the first point must be the cheapest to buy from, right?!

wrong... doesn't works that way... so, I don't understand the logic of that :(

tia for help to understand, hoping it's not a bug/unpolished thingie... :)

I don't have enough experience trading to help you with your specific question. However, I have noted that if you are getting missions on the BB for delivery of specific materials, it often indicates a local shortage. I will typically go source the material and load up the rest of the cargo space with the same material to cart back. 1k/ton profit? No, but usually a somewhat solid trade... there are exceptions tho, so YMMV. As a bonus, you end up stimulating local markets. It's a real surprise to see a station you trade with regularly start turning lights and advertising on after you work with them for a bit!
