I haven't played ME in a long time, but I can still remember every single character like my dear friend. It was very casual game gameplay-wise, but people who wrote it knew their stuff(maybe apart from the ending :D)
Definitely excited.

I don't know, I might get it. I seem to be alone in not being fond of any of the ME games. Bioware write good stories, but everything runs on rails too much for me - it's a fault I find in all their games. Don't get me wrong, what they do they do really well, but I'm just more into sandboxes and free-form RPGs. I have played several Bioware games, but each one only once - they have no replay interest for me.

I play few games, as in campaign or story type. I mostly play sandbox games that allow you to pick and choose what you do. But, in the video there, it did say 'open' universe and I'm thinking, what with all the competition, that they would make it 'kinda sandbox'ish, perhaps.
Seems many games are turning that way, allowing players to go their own path. This openess I like alot and has been a long time coming in games (more widely). Its great game makers have come to the conclusion players want to play their own game, within the game they give us. Sandbox allows that. Hopefully they will make this 'open' and a little, open ended too.
.
I'm not familiar with ME, so not sure if that would be the case or not.

Mass Effect 1 to 3 is a story you play in first person.

Sure, you got some influence on the outcome of some details but it is storytelling nonetheless.

This time with Andromeda, I would bet BIOWARE is going for something completely different.
You no longer have to save the galaxy, you just go wherever you want and do whatever you want.

That's open mode basically. Something akin to Witcher 3.

Check out this quick review of the Mass Effect story so far:

I am so stoked for this game.
I hope it is all I think it is.
But you never know.
Of course EA will do horrible immoral things with DLC milking again.

ME always had incredibly beautiful scifi environments and superb architecture that blew my mind.
I expect nothing less from this game.

I think Andromeda will be more similar to Dragon Age Inquisition as far as open world goes - cant wait myself.

Wife and I just finished the ME trilogy on the 360. Overall we enjoyed it, especially since we picked up the entire trilogy for about $13 used. Hopefully right now we plan to get a PS 4.5 for Xmas so Mass Effect Andromeda is on the "to buy" list for us.

Just heard of this one. So much content in this. Will we ever have time to do both?
