Major fan/groupie of the first trilogy. To the point of writing softcore.

I would not call MEA situation a jumping into a new galaxy - more like cautiously dipping my toes into it while holding onto my Clipper ramp railing.

track record does not favour MEA - while the entire ME first trilogy is excellent (unlike DA which is one excellent game and 2 ok ones) it took a year to make it so AFTER the release and DESPITE plain decisionmaking idiocy and extensively cut content. The tendencies, the general DAI-like composition and the general social context of the collapse of planetary civilisation is not a background for great works of art. I would like to be mistaken but i expect a DAI - level game which is ok but nothing to write home about.

I will try, expecting to be back to ED in a couple of days.

Played the 10hr preview, didn't see any of the numerous animation issues others have reported (and made hilarious memes from). Quite liked the story and the gfx are great, preordered and will be enjoying it tomorrow :)

Wether or not it'll live up to the previous games is another matter, but taken on its own it's a great sci-fi game with some lite RPG elements.

Not really, not because "this and this looks bad!" they simply never have showed anything that made me wanna play the game. To be honest marketing of the game was a bit bland from the get go.

I canceled my pre-order after seeing how awful the animations and facial expressions were.

Their racist tirade on twitter didn't help things either.

The things I miss for thinking Twitter is a big piece of crap.... I love racist tirades. Just not enough to bother reading Twitter.

I've played the trial through (to the point of "thank you for playing now be a good chap and buy"), encountered one really weird facial expression, and liked the whole experience thoroughly. The internet's stance on it is: "ME:A suxx! I know because I saw the memes!", which puts a sad note on the whole "critical thinking" of the society in general, to give it a blues twist.

PS: no I will not buy on release, partly because I still have the original trillogy to finish and secondly let them patch bugs, and the price to drop from hype levels.

I preordered and installed, but didn't have time last night to fire it up...But to be fair though my brand spanking new Edtracker Pro showed up in the mail yesterday, too, and I was pretty busy trying that puppy out so Mass Effect never really had a chance.

I'm not paying too much attention to all the criticism of the game. I'll just play it and see for myself. If I paid attention to critical reception I might never have tried ED

After actually playing the free demo, I gotta wonder where all the salt is coming from...its really not as bad as many people seem to think. Few little kinks here and there, but the gameplay, or what I experienced of it is enough to justify the cost of the game. Gameplay is more important to me than graphics...maybe Im just old fashioned.

Regardless, yes Ill be there soon...fun distraction while waiting fer 2.4 and its mass effect...played all 3 and will play number 4...

I tend to ignore games reviews entirely...I wanna see it for meself and most the time, my experience differs enormously from most reviews...why change the habit of a lifetime? This game hardly has glowing reviews, but no doubt the fanbois will have their excuses preloaded with one in the chamber to explain this, hmm?

Ill be back fer 2.4...thats if theres something in it worth coming back for...so far we know absoolutely nothing whatsoever about it...we shall see ^

I agree with the most of your rating.

Though I actually do enjoy dialogues. Some of the lines are really cheesy, but the whole game is lightened up and doesn't forget to make fun of itself and the genre clichés. I love it.
And I also don't have problems with squadmates, though some NPCs are weird.

Facial animation is a problem, but then again, Bioware was never good at this, and I'll take an occasional face glitch over Shepard's ME3 running animation any day. :D
I'm enjoying the hell out of it.

To be honest I'm suprised some people are suprised people making fun of it. Making Fun of ME has always been done, its part of the experience :D
