Yeah, but what's the point of the FdL now? Just a ship for those who cannot yet afford a combat Python?
They need to create some class 4 lasers now to make up for it.

FDL is a specialized luxury bounty hunter. If you mess around with fittings you can see where you might want an FDL over a Python. A fully kitted Python is also much more expensive due to the module price differences. It doesn't suddenly make the FDL pointless because it had it's MLF changed.

In general, if i remember correct (not only NPC) the bigger the difference between your masslock and the opposite ships masslock, the longer it takes for the weaker FSD to spool up. However, its not really masslocking - what happens there, if you want to name it correclty, is mass disruption.

Ive owned both since they were released and have hundreds of hours flight time in both of them.

FdL 406 versus Python 340 depending on how much gear you have stacked.

FdL can just leave without a scratch. You dictate the engagement in a Lance.

An FdL with zero eng pips is still fast and manoeuverable - a Python with zero eng pips is basically a Space Lada with a bunch of bazookas welded to the roof.

Given the essential 4 pips in sys this makes flying the Python in combat hard work.

Mass lock is irrelevant. I have high waked out of countless engagements where i was outnumbered and mass locked.
