Newcomer / Intro mass vs jump capacity \ lenght

what can i buy and equip to reduce \ increase ; mass \ laden jump lenght?

im in a type 6, ready to embark on some rare routes, but with 12.85 LADEN jump range its gonna require me to stop inbetween systems instead of jumping straight line even if it is "fastest route".

lol.. 12.85 "oh, lord"...

im currently at george lucas base in leesti, i figured they had high tech. they do. but any recommendation for equipping a type 6 in any other better system welcome.

"that time", when i was hitting the launch button and i pressed the landing gear button and wanted to propulse out of the landing pad, then figured out i didnt have enough power. logged out, logged in, found myself floating in space with 10 sec left of air, rofl. so i had to disengage the shield generator then i flew to leesti...

so i have only 383.892CR on me atm but its easy to make more.

If its only for trading, get all your modules D class, class A fsd.

Basic trading setup. I personally use class a shields, class a powerplant (for heat efficiency) and switch out one of the lower cargo bays for a fuel scoop

as far as where to get stuff, it varies. Just check everyplace you stop at. If you have the credits to buy an upgrade do it, if not, I write it down to come back to later (just make sure when upgrading to leave enough for insurance.)

i cant select D class thrusters cause it exceeds max mass... for some reason.

D is the rating, not the class. You need the correct class thrusters in D rating.

Let me make some things clear:

Class is measured in numbers, 1 being the smallest. Class is basically the size of the unit, bigger ships use a bigger Class component, smaller Class components in bigger ships often don't work at all and usually are not as effective. Where Thrusters are concerned it's like putting a 500cc engine in your Bugatti.

Rating is the effectiveness of the unit and is measured in letters, A being the best. A Rated units are better than B Rated units. Andurol recommended D Rated units because they have less mass than other Ratings and therefore allow you to jump further.

I hope this helps.

every version for thruster is "module will exceed maximum mass"... i tried selling something to see if i could afford any of them and i could afford the C 4 version of it the last option is B 4 but that is insufficient credits.

The D4 Thrusters are probably your best bet in a Type 6. You need Class 4 Thrusters in a Type 6, a lower Class will not have the power to move the mass of the ship. The rating is up to you but the D Rated ones have less mass which means you can hyperspace jump further.

raight ;P they dont sell D4. lol. you happen to know anywhere near leesti they do?

I'm sorry I don't know, I'm currently around 9000 LY away from civilised space and heading out. Just check around the local systems, they're not that rare.
