Massacre missions don't stack with no indication that they won't

If you take multiple massacre missions in the same system against the same faction, killing one enemy only counts towards one of the missions. There is, as far as I noticed, no indication that this is the case. Now I'm probably going to take a huge reputation hit because there's no way I'm going to shoot down 138 ships instead of the 42 I planned on doing.

To be fair, there's also no indication in the mission text that they will all complete simultaneously. So an unlucky guess there.
In the same boat, I think I'd be ditching most of those too. 138 ships at one sitting would leave me cross-eyed.
Live and learn [blah]

The mission stacking bug was fixed in patch 2.4 and the notification in the patch notes. It now plays as it should, in contrast to your post - the missions never said killing one ship would contribute to multiple missions. Each mission asks for a specific number. It now plays as it reads

On a related note, I remember FDev restricted the number of same type of missions one could take at a time as a temporary fix. Was this removed after the permanent fix? IIRC, this fix was for Planetary Scan and/or Massacre missions.

I don't think stacking missions is always a bug.

When two different factions pay you to do the same thing they shouldn't care that someone else is paying you, too.

Missions from same faction should not stack though as surely that faction alone won't be paying you twice for the same job.

And that's exactly how it works right now [up]

Yes they can be accepted and completed. I'm not sure how Elite decides which one you are completing when, but you will start with one and will need to complete it (or dump it) to start another.

If the stacking fix for these is the same as for the planetary scan missions, you should be completing missions in the order you accepted them.

Good to know. Goes to show that FDev really does fix stuff even if there are multitudes of users complaining.
