Horizons Massacre Missions

I picked up a massacre mission to kill a certain faction but this faction is also prevalent in the compromised Nav Beacon.

Problem is that killing these ships are not counting towards the tally.

I appreciate that they can be found in the conflict zones but surely killing the faction anywhere should count?

Anyone else noticed this?

Combat zones are declared 'lawless' so you can kill. Outside these areas you are committing murder.

Also, if you fly too far away from the fight but do not jump out, you will get a 'leaving combat zone' message- if you shoot an opponent here its a crime too.

No, that can't be it seeing as all the faction ships at the nav beacon are wanted....

It doesn't state you are restricted to the zones so these kills should count.

Sounds like you picked up a "massacre the ships" (conflict zone) mission rather than "massacre the pirates" (wanted status) mission.

Also, does the mission specify the system where they need to be killed, and if so, are you in that system?

Just to expand on that, the devs fixed it so that only kills in a CZ count for maasacre ships missions. They did that because people figured out that it was a lot easier to kill skimmers from the same faction to make half a billion an hour in a Sidewinder with 20 stacked massacre missions per trip. They also reduced the number of stacked missions and stopped one kill counting for all missions.
