Massive FPS drop with this version in both Planet Zoo and Planet Coaster (Windows 11 beta build 22622.436)

Yes, I'm aware I'm running a beta version of Windows and should not expect everything to be perfect. However, this beta is very close to going live so I'm just alerting the developers of a potential issue with what will be 22H2. I think there's some compatibility issue with the Cobra engine and this release of Windows.

Massive FPS drop with this version in both Planet Zoo and Planet Coaster (using the included driver with 22622.436). I've spent days repeating it.

The really bad thing is that even after rolling back to the previous version it's still broken. The only way to fix it is to do an in-place upgrade and choose "keep my files and settings".

I have tried everything else to fix it after rolling back. I've tried:

sfc /scannow
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
using DDU to remove the video card driver and reinstall it
manually deleting shader cache
reinstalling both Planet Coaster and Planet Zoo

Nothing has worked. I realize this might not get fixed ever and when 22H2 rolls out I'll probably just have to live with it but on the off chance that some Microsoft developer would read this and try to recreate it I'm posting it here.

The video card driver is AMD. I've used both the included one and downloaded 22.6.1 from AMD. Same results.

******UPDATE 7/26/2022
AMD released a new driver specifically compatible with 22H2. After installing this and then upgrading to 22622.436 I am pleased to report this issue seems to be resolved!

I just wanted to say thanks because I'm having the same issue!
Also remove "wallpaper engine" as that seems to break these games as well. I suspect it may even be the main cause. That is some combination of AMD pre 22.7.1 drivers, wallpaper engine and 22H2 seems to make this happen.

And you're most welcome!

I have no idea what a wallpaper engine is.

Also how do I update drivers? Whenever I google it it said to go into the device manager, but in all my years of owning a PC searching for updates through that has literally never found an update (even when I know with certainty that updates exist).

Go here and drill down to whatever video card you have. Install the 22.7.1 update.

I've been meaning to just favorite the page for my driver and be done with it. I have no idea why Windows never finds any updates (I usually don't bother to look unless I'm experiencing an issue, so not too frequently), it's pretty annoying.
