Massively dissapointed with FD

I've been away from the game for a while- a sick relative was staying in our spare room, meaning my simpit was tucked away thoughout the beta for Horizons. A wasted investment, but no worries, as a pre-Merc Beta backer I knew there'd be a nice new Viper waiting for me to play with on my return, plus a hefty 2 million community reward I could claim to pimp it out a bit with still unclaimed on my account.

The community reward is gone. Meh, it's a whole new game, take the hit and move on. Should have got it while the going was good.

So I'll just wander over to the new Viper, right?

Er, no. In spite of a clear cut series of promises, the Viper is just another sale option. Go find one and buy it yourself, CMDR, no freebies here. The big kerfuffle last month just staggers me- locked threads, accusations of 'confusion' on the part of paying customers, even some bovine excrement claim that the 'free' ship bought and paid for by mugs like me was actually a red paint job, silly boy!

Your comment on the 'Community have just let it go' is rather odd, because I would imagine that if the Viper wasn't at a dock somewhere, there would be an outrage, which there hasn't been. I stand corrected: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=211971

Have you even looked at the galaxy map for docked ships? Did you purchase the correct backing package? Is it free to buy in-game?

The CG reward was probably already added to your balance. If I recall, if they're unclaimed for a certain amount of time, they 'auto complete' and add the total to your credit balance.

I thought this was going to be a complaint of substance, but I'm left disappointed.

If you can't find your viper, open a ticket. If you're missing a couple mil creds, open a ticket. Really, these are pretty minor things and could be just ignored. I understand wanting closure on the few creds and such, but it's not a big enough deal to create a thread.

It's something to do with patches. They did it as a workaround because it used to be that if you had an unclaimed CG when they patched the game, you shot up to the top rank. I made a fair bit of money that way.

Indeed. If OP spent the time it took him to write this rant bounty hunting or trading, he could have more than made up for what he thinks he's missing.

I can't be bothered flying to the stations where any of my free ships are. I see it like those missions that pay 50k but want you to fly around for an hour, except without the rep gain. Would have been nice if the free ships were added as a credit against the first one bought, so it could be garaged somewhere useful, but again, so cheap it doesn't matter.

And while annoying its common practice that if someone has a dormant acc for too long stuff may go away. Usually 2-3 years so no clue how long youve been gone.

in todays day and age 2 mill is 30 mins to 1 hour of bounty hunting There are many good systems, i like HIP 20277 near fabian city
