I've looked quite a bit. I'm looking for a tool, research page, spread sheet that would tell us what materials we can trade for others so we don't have to waste a trip to a mat trader or find out.

Try https://inara.cz/galaxy-components/ and sort by Type, then look at the Grades within each type.
