Match speed & more...

To preface this thread, I did look for the answers to the following questions. I apologize if they have been asked/answered already so here it goes.

1. Will our beta characters reset or be deleted when the game is released?

2 I already purchased my Standard Beta downloadable copy. Will any boxed set be released ever? Maybe with backers getting a discount?

3. External view? Is there one or will there be one?

4. Thrusters left/right. I haven't seen if there is an up/down thruster. If there is, what are the keyboard controls to do so?

5. Matching speed of target. (or at least try to match speed) Is this possible? If so, what keyboard controls?

6. I'm sure I'll figure this out when standard beta starts on 7/29, but when you die/blow up in the game...what happens to your body/ship?

<<scratches goatee>> I think that's it for now.

There will almost certainly be a wipe at the beginning of gamma (after Beta) and there might be a wipe during gamma if they discover a serious enough problem, but otherwise not.

3. External view? Is there one or will there be one?

I'm pretty sure that at the moment there won't be.

4. Thrusters left/right. I haven't seen if there is an up/down thruster. If there is, what are the keyboard controls to do so?

There is, but I don't use keyboard for that - hit ESC and edit your controls/keyboard bindings - this should tell you what (if anything) they're bound to.

5. Matching speed of target. (or at least try to match speed) Is this possible? If so, what keyboard controls?

Not that I'm aware of, you have to eyeball it to figure out if you're getting closer or not.

6. I'm sure I'll figure this out when standard beta starts on 7/29, but when you die/blow up in the game...what happens to your body/ship?

Your ship esplodes and your "life pod" magically teleports to the last station you were in, and you get the option of paying an insurance excess fee of about 5% of the old ships value and getting your old ship back (minus cargo) or just accepting a free sidewinder with one pulse-laser.

That might change for the beta, I'm not sure.

I believe that in Iron-man mode you have a manually ejected life-pod that you can use to get away from an exploding ship, and if you don't get out in time you "die" and get booted from the ironman group for that character.

I kickstartered at the level of a box set so there will be box sets made. However I am aware of no plans to make this generally available.

Given the original game came in a s***** big box, I suspect ED might give some thought to it. However most of the people who would like jump at the box set will already have them from the KS so there would be a limited market for them.
