Matchmaking Server Error = No Shields = FD Death Sentence

Why FD, for the love of gawd, why?

I am engaged in a furball in a Hi-Res site with the pirate faction actively hostile towards me. Regular hunters will know exactly what this means......ie eyes on swivels ready for the next hiding.

I get dumped to desktop courtesy of FS......Matchmaking server error!

I break out in a cold sweat 'cause I KNOW that as soon as I spawn back in there's an army of angry pirates just a couple of seconds away. But fret not you'll say, you are in a Battle-Conda.

Fret like I'd say..........

Courtesy of FD I am about to spawn into a wasp's nest consisting of wings of Vultures and the like as butt-naked as the day I was born. Yes, FD took pity on the Pirates and dumped me into the game with ZERO shields, with a wee voice loudly trumpeting and giggling: Please wait TEN minutes for your shields to spool up again. In the meantime, try your very best to stay alive 'cause if not there's a 20 million rebuy cost waiting for you if those Vultures catch you with your bits hanging out cause YOU HAVE NO SHIELDS!

Yep, usually works for me.
Although I now have the 5 minute wait for shields..........................

Haven't heard anyone complaining about this for quite a while.

Wasn't it a log off in the roids rather than CTD issue anyway (logging off and CTDs are dealt with differently I think)?

Same thing happened to me twice today. 1st time was docked and matchmaker dumped me back to main screen, then I respawned 20km away and zero shields! Sucks! The second time today was when I was in a RES and combat was going good. Dumped out by the matchmaker! Came back full shields and 20 km away from the RES. the instance went from great to awful. Thanks a lot FD.

I had this too yesterday...I was flying along in SC approaching a station and I got the matchmaking error. Restarted to find my ship with no shields.

Very, very dangerous and annoying bug :/
