Add NPCs to Fill Up the Empty Slots and for Quick Matchmaking?

  • Yes, bots should fill up empty slots so we can do quick matches

  • No, I rather wait a long time for sufficient players to start a match

Pretty much the only time I ever tried it, I gave up after waiting several minutes for matchmaking with no results. I see no real reason why not to add bots, at least as an option, as they're in the regular game anyway.

There were so many games going on tonight it was hard for the regulars to get in the same game. Come and join the discord. You'll get some games

I argued for bots/NPCs to be included in CQC from early on. I think quite a few of us recognised that there would eventually be difficulty for some of us in getting matches at all. I very occasionally try, but invariably fail to get a match when I do try these days. Shame too as CQC was a lot of fun when it released (even though a bit too much of a distraction away from the main game sometimes). I suspect it's just few CQC players close by my area for the matchmaking though rather than no-one playing at all (as some people seem to be able to get matches just fine).

This is a more sensible approach than bots in my view.

Team death match is difficult because most people are in death match. You need to be able to chat with other players to suggest they join a team death match. This is an area where the discord channel can be a help.

I don't disagree, but simply starting the match even though it's not full (ie with no bots either) doesn't work when one has no-one else matching up at all, which is my experience......

CQC Tuesday's!!!!!!

From release of CQC it has been a game mode that has shown promise. the lack of upgrade/support for it apart from a few stability tweaks is understandable as frontier have wanted (needed) to fix so much in the main game, as a small team of devs though means that bigger issues in the main game get fixed quicker, but CQC ends up being left behind.

However...

if you're looking for games, the PBSF are running CQC TUESDAY events are at 0800, 2100 and 0000 utc for ANZAC, GMT AND ECT CMDR's, jump in at your time zones, there's usually at least one lobby open with the option of trying to get several going should the numbers be there.

Look forward to seeing you there this next tuesday (That's not a euphemism admins its literally every tuesday [big grin])
See you in the Black CMDR's!

You guys are on XBOne, right? It would be nice if crossplay were a thing :I

PBSF are the Pixel Bandits Security Force, player faction based out of Neto. Around 400 members atm and climbing, what started off as a few mates gaming together in GPP has grown into a community not just e:d but for general gaming and is one of the few triple elite clans on xbox. mainly based on xbox, but we've a few over on pc too (even the odd member who plays PS4) occasional reviews and news over at www.pixelbandits.org (if anyone is interested we've a sneak peak at the E:D RPG kickstarter project that's going live shortly)

Just talked with the rest of the council. once we've got the Tuesdays sessions going smoothly we'll be looking to start a pc side version of the event too. once we know more about the timings and start dates we will get something up in the forums about it.
O7

P.S. yeah cross play would be awesome. Even if we would just embarrass you with your fancy HOTAS set ups :p

On PC though we do tend to have matches every day. It is best in the European evening but the window seems to be getting larger. It would be great to have the xbox crowd in the games too.
