material and data storage

this is way to small with doing engineering 1000/1000 of all types this should be 100 of each type of material aka iron 100/100 nickel 100/100 and so on

1000/1000 you could end up with 200 iron and 11 nickel data is the same way. now 2.3 is in beta this would be a good time to change this if you wanted too

I think it would be closer to 50 each type to equal 1,000. But I think I have a better idea. A type of adjuster. Let say small caliber weapons and Large caliber weapons. Great and everything. But while exploring You should be able to disable them so it give More space for FSD materials

well thats my point 50 most of the time is not enough you need to carry nickel iron sulphur and phosphorus for the srv and so on 50 of each most of the time is not enough seeing as you also need that stuff for the engineering thats why i say 100 of each would be a good number
 
the ability to store Mats and cargo at your home station would be better. id say 5k mats and 1k MAX for cargo storage. also another thing while we are on about storage is the ability to carry unmounted modules around so you dont have to pay for transfers if your ship is big enough.
 
I carry 9 iron (not a golf joke) and 9 nickel. That's more than enough to repair the SRV. If I do use those at an engineer, those are common elements I can find in minutes if I'm on the ground in an SRV and likely to need repairs.

There is basically no need to hold any of the FSD wake data except Datamined once you have G5 access (unless you want to make one or 2 interdictors and really, how many of those do you need?).

The same applies for many, many, many elements. You just have to be brutally efficient and throw the stuff you don't need out. Hoarding seems to be an issue for gamers.

maybe for you but not all of have time or the inclination to micro manage our game like that and also it maybe easy for you but this is not true for others

i eject anything that i get to much of which pains me because i hate driving the damn SRV's around. i also syth ammo in the field and that costs quite a bit for multiple weapons. then people give me the 'just go back to the station its not that hard' im aware its not hard, i just dont want to every 15 minutes. the mags are already tiny for multi cannons and having to carry around 30 materials (2 iron, 1 nickle, 2 sulpher,) just to reload 3 multi cannons fully one time each with basic synth is annoying i want to be self sufficient in the field. i have an AFM, thick shields, SVR, Fighter hangar, fuel scoop, but god forbid i fire my guns to much i gotta go search around on a planet for an hour to fully load my guns. when i need more common mats i take mining lasers into a metallic res site with no refinery and use collectors. i do that every few days just so i dont have to run back to the station for more bullets. and the next tier of small calibre amo takes me 30 mats (2 Iron, 2 Zinc, 2 phosphorus, 2 selenium, 2 zirconium) as well to restock the same ammount of rounds, and the third tier takes 33(2 sulpher, 2 phospherous, 2 tungsten, 2 zirconium, 2 mercury, 1 antimony). its ridiculous.
No im not going to use all lasers because i like damaging hull.

You could do it a different way.

You can refit your ship to mining ores and refine them while you collect minerals and kill two birds with one stone. If your complaining about you having to go back every 15 Minutes to resupply your ships weapons. Maybe don't just use Cannons and Multi cannons in combat and use some lasers and such to take down shields and calber weapons to cause heavy damage.

my anaconda has more lasers than mulit cannons however my largest and most damaging weapons have corrosive and thermal rounds. meaning the thermal work on shields and hull, the corrosive is my 4A multi with reduced fire rate because i want longevity out of my ammunition and corrosive effect applied to hull. my 3 on the bottom is a thermal vent beam and the smalls are regen sequense beam. my top side larges are either thermal shock multies or turreted pulses depending on needs. my nose mounted mediums are either incendiary round multies or thermal vented beams, again depending on need.
i have just played the game so much that spending more time in the black is better because ive spent a lot of time looking at a hangar and ploting, talking, and prepping. i just want a solution to ammo and mat storage.

Best to hit here Frontier please take pity give us more ammo and or free up basic synthesis I also don't agree with their idea. Good weapons like Cannons and such has it weakness. In Case with Cannons and Multi Cannons. There a limit. But players can farm the materials let take Samson J. Rivers ship the Anaconda. Which A full load of Mining setup which I think was around 400 tons of cargo can give you a good amount of synthesized ammo supply The ores are Very common or common. The very rare types that give extra % damage are rare. So all it required is effort. On my ship right now I have 25 refill

I replied to that thread before i came here. my solution is on page 4 of that thread. and i understand it requires effort because thats what i have been doing. i didnt say i was unable, i know what i have to do i just wish i didnt have to do it so often. i like playing the game and having fun not holding left click and watching youtube in front of a rock. while that is playing the game, its not fun.
